Miroslav's 'This is Paris/San Fransisco/London ...etc. ' picture books have been a huge inspiration for me. The aesthetic appeal of this era, and the things that Miroslav draws our attention to, makes this series of picture books one of the coolest things on the planet. He is so skillful with his use of colour. His pages are full of insightful illustrations and very clever commentary. He makes the cities, its people, their cars and even the mundane objects like electrical wires and fences look so interesting and appealing. The above image of a Parisian Flea Market that I would empty my wallet in. What a talent! And what a style!
